Over the past decade or so, many new products, such as injectable dermal fillers, and many techniques, such as laser treatments, have been perfected for addressing virtually every part of the face that you feel needs improvement.
Each treatment works differently and was developed to be effective for specific problems, in different areas of the face.
For example, some were designed:
- To replace lost volume in the upper part of the face, or the mid-portion of the face, or the lower portion of the face.
- To improve tone, texture and pigmentation.
- To provide immediately visible improvements in texture and firmness.
- To gradually show improvement by stimulating collagen production over time.
These are certainly not the only options, but they do demonstrate why the term “non-surgical facelift” does not refer to just one type of treatment or procedure. Depending on the problem(s) to be addressed—from wrinkles, laugh lines and jowls to crow’s feet and turkey neck—a non-surgical facelift can often best be achieved using a combination of treatments and procedures.
This is why having a skilled, knowledgeable, and talented anti-aging doctor such as Dr. Kaado is so important. His singular goal is to help you achieve the look that you want in the most painless, effective, long-lasting manner possible, and he has the expertise to develop a treatment plan that will accomplish that goal.
Although people have traditionally resorted to cosmetic surgery, there are obvious disadvantages such as expense and recovery time. Today, there are many simple yet highly effective non-invasive alternatives to a surgical facelift that help you subtly return to a fresher version of yourself – and keep lines, wrinkles and sagging at bay.
Options for a Custom Non-surgical Facelift
As we age, the face loses volume and the skin’s elasticity declines dramatically, with the effects of gravity becoming all too evident and resulting in sagging or drooping. For women, the chin can also be a real tell-tale sign of ageing: the loss of deep supporting fat, combined with gum recession and loss of bone, impact the lower face and chin causing thin lips and wrinkles and a puckered or pouty chin. Tissue loss and sagging skin also cause a chin crease below the lips.
At KAADOMD, Dr. Kaado is a pioneer of the ‘less is more’ approach to non-surgical cosmetic enhancement. The aim is for natural rejuvenation – as if your face has simply been airbrushed. He is trained in the highly technical and advanced methods of facial enhancement through precision injection points that treat the cause of the issue as well as the problem area.
Dr. Kaado will strategically plan cosmetic treatments that will have an impact but yet remain undetectable.
Our ethos is to tailor make a treatment plan to restore the three-dimensional contour of your face with naturally understated, long-lasting results. We find best results are obtained by customizing a clever combination of treatments such as: Botox®, dermal fillers, collagen stimulators, skin lifting & tightening, Facetite, lasers, and thread lifting that all work in synergy.
Injectable Dermal Fillers
There are two types of facial fillers:
- Those that are made from substances naturally found in the body but are lost as we age
- Those are synthetic compounds
The natural substances include:
- Hyaluronic acid, which include the Juvéderm and Restylane families of products. This is, arguably, the most popular and commonly used type of filler. Results, depending on product and treatment area, can last up to two years.
- Calcium Hydroxylapatite (Ca(HA) – This includes Radiesse and stimulates the body’s production of collagen.
Poly-L-lactic acid, the basis for the Sculptra brand, is synthetic but also bioactive and biodegradable, meaning that it will interact with tissue and dissolve in the body.
BOTOX is frequently thought of as a facial filler, but it is not. Facial fillers are injected directly into the creases, wrinkles folds or cheeks to either directly plump up the skin or to stimulate collagen growth.
BOTOX, however, works by relaxing the muscles underneath the wrinkles, which is why it is so effective for frown lines between the brows and wrinkles in the forehead.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing can improve:
- Wrinkles or fine lines around the mouth, on the forehead or under the eyes
- Pigmentation issues, such as liver spots and birthmarks or pale, gray or yellowish skin tones
- Sun damage
A hand-held laser device is passed over the affected area(s) and sends short, pulsating, high-intensity beams of light to it, one layer at a time.
As the beam removes the top layer of skin, it heats the deeper layer below it, stimulating the growth of new collagen. When the new layer of skin grows in, it is firmer and smoother.
Radiofrequency treatments can stimulate the cells to produce more collagen, thus improving elasticity. Similar to laser treatments, a hand-held device is passed over the treatment area, but a radio wave, rather than light, causes heat to build up where the skin and fat layer meet. This causes the collagen fibers to contract. Believing they are undergoing trauma, they stimulate the growth of new collagen, to form tighter skin.
Microneedling, and Chemical Peels
Whether done with heat, light or chemicals, the purpose of these treatments is the same: to remove the top layer(s) of dead skin cells and allow for the growth of new, healthier, more refined skin.
Unlike fillers and laser treatments, each of these has a more substantial recovery period.
For example, dermal fillers or collagen-stimulating treatments to restore lost volume, re-contouring and sculpting the face and cheeks, and Ultherapy, Ultrasound and Thermage radio frequency to lift, smooth and tighten the skin. Additionally, ‘thread lifts’ can be included to offer a very subtle lift to the brow, cheeks and jowls area.
Different treatments achieve different outcomes. We follow a holistic style approach and get the best results for you by careful assessment of the face. Our practitioners will put together a tailor-made treatment plan for you, which may include one treatment or a combination of treatments to achieve optimum results.
We will explain everything in detail and make you feel at ease and relaxed on the day of your treatment, knowing you’re in safe, expert and medically qualified hands.
The thread lift is a safe non-invasive procedure perfect for patients experiencing loss of skin tone and flexibility and minor facial sagging. A safe and convenient option to avoid the downtime and recovery from a traditional surgical face lift, the thread lift uses temporary, dissolvable sutures beneath the surface of the skin. This procedure can be performed on your full face, allowing problem areas to be lifted and restore a more youthful facial appearance.
FaceTite™ is an aesthetic facial contouring solution that can produce dramatic improvements in facial appearance, often compared to facelift results – but without surgery. Take years off your look with this groundbreaking technology to tighten and firm your facial skin. FaceTite™ uses a very fine needle to conduct radio frequency in to the layers of the dermis to apply heat energy and can be completed in less than an hour, with instantly visible results. Once the procedure is complete, you will continue to notice improvements in facial elasticity, tone and texture for several weeks.
