The sheet mask is a fairly recent innovation in skincare. It originated in South Korea and is rapidly gaining popularity in the U.S.A. At the practice of Dr. Kaado in Virginia Beach, VA, we offer the highest quality sheet masks as add-ons to your facials for the ultimate in skincare.
We have a huge array of sheet masks from all over the world to complement our facials.
What is a Sheet Mask?
A sheet mask is a face-shaped sheet of fabric soaked in a serum packed with nutrition for your skin. These masks are available in a variety of materials, including fiber, cotton, cellulose, and coconut pulp. A sheet mask is different than a paste-type face mask, as you only need to apply the mask, take it off after the prescribed time, then pat in the extra serum.
How Do You Use a Sheet Mask?
One of the main advantages of a sheet mask is ease of use. Simply apply to a clean face, leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes, and remove the mask. You can use a sheet mask any time at home, whether you are working or relaxing, watching TV, or reading a book. There is no need to wash when the treatment is done.
Most sheet masks are one-size-fits all. When applying the mask, start from the forehead and gently pat it down over your face, while lining up the holes for your eyes, nose, and mouth. At the office of Dr. Kaado, we recommend treating your face with to a sheet mask at least three time a week, or even once a day for special treatment. There is no limit to the number of applications in a day or a week.
How does a Sheet Mask Work?
The face-shaped sheet is soaked with a concentrated serum containing beneficial ingredients, such as vitamins and hyaluronic acid. The sheet prevents the water in which the ingredients are dissolved from evaporating rapidly, extending the timeframe in which the nutrients can penetrate deeply into the skin.
